– What Are the Odds That Stats Would Be This Popular? - NYTimes.com (via interestingsnippets) It’s true.  Inthepresenttense and I were popular folks in grad school due to the fact that our program required a pretty good background in stats (plus we were whizzes at programing in SAS).

I really didn’t plan to start off my day with a post, but this one is weighing heavy on me this morning.  So I’m gonna toss it out there, just to get a bit of the weight off my mind. Turns out that turning in my resignation from my job set in motion a series of territory realignments that resulted in one of my teammates losing his job (that’ll make one feel like shit real...

An excerpt from November of 2006. Back when I... →
I grew up in a place where Jim Shoulders and Ty Murray,  Casey Tibbs, Bruce Ford and the Etbauers, Roy Cooper and Joe Beaver were more likely heros than the latest actor, athlete, or pop star.  It seems however that wet saddle blankets, hours spent baking in the sun, dirty boots and jeans, border collie dogs, the comforting odor of horse shit, more hours spent in the barn than the house, coffee...

– The Old Man is the type that doesn’t really like the phone or internet thing.  If you come see him in person, he’ll visit (because he can keep working while you talk). You may recall a couple weeks ago when I posted about a magazine that has a feature on him (that he neglected to tell me...

Yes, I am listening to “Sometimes” for the 5 bazillionth time.  Yes, I am just as giddy as the first time I heard it.  Sunshine and puppies and rainbows! Squee!   I suspect this is probably not the reaction Ben was going for.  But, there it is.

Gentlemen,
If you take your wives to a show, you should probably not spend your time flirting with the chick standing beside you. A) it’s awkward for the chick standing beside you B) you won’t be getting laid tonight C) chick beside you has to decides to find a new place to stand, even though that was “her place” at this venue. Of course, most of my followers are way smarter than to...

Lunch time retail
I just bought a really floaty, silky, girly dress which has not historically been my style. But it fits really good and I love it and I figure I can give it some edge with a Jean jacket (or leather) and/or boots. Or maybe I’ll just put on some heels and be prissy for a change. Now, I just have to find a place to wear it…
